Scouting for Food

We need units to sign up for door hanger distribution areas, and drop off areas, with date and time. Please email your DE with information, and how many door hangers your unit will need.
"To help other people at all times " is not only part of the Scout Oath; it's an annual council-wide service project across 44 counties of central and southwest Oklahoma.
The annual Scouting for Food Drive of the Last Frontier Council involves door-to-door food collection efforts by Scouts to collect non-perishable food for local food pantries. Scouts distribute informational door hangers a week prior to the collection day. On the morning of the collection day, Scouts canvass neighborhoods to collect bags and boxes full of non-perishable food destined for Oklahomans who need a little extra help during the winter.
This year on Saturday, Nov. 22, Scouts will collect donated food and deliver to local food pantries. Since it's inception over 250,000 pounds of food were collected and donated by Scouts across Oklahoma. With an increasing need this year we hope to collect even more food to meet the rising demand for local food pantries.
