Summer Camp Staff

Each summer, the Last Frontier Council employs over 70 youth and adults as members of the Slippery Falls staff. In addition to several weekend meetings in the spring, the staff work for a full week prior to camp opening to make sure campers have a top-quality summer camp experience.

Kerr Scout Ranch at Slippery Falls is always in need of additional talent on staff. To be employed as a camp staff member, candidates must be at least 15 years old and agree to register as a member of the Boy Scouts of America.

Counselor-In-Training program (CIT)

For Scouts or Venturers at least 14 years old, or 13 years old and having completed the 8th grade, Kerr Scout Ranch offers a Counselor In Training (CIT) program. Youth must have permission from their unit leader and submit an application form with references. Scouts in the CSD program will be at camp for one or two weeks and serve without compensation, similar to an unpaid internship. Scouts will learn about various areas of camp and skills necessary to be employed on staff.
